Competition Rules
Racing is similar to a breakout class without breakouts. Cars must be speed governed within a 0.10 of the fast lap (set by track for the day - usually around 28%). No boosting your car above that speed without permission.
Qualifying is two races. The lineups in heat one are based on points position. The lineups in heat two are based on heat 1 results. The best race from the two heats determines the lineup of the mains.
Driving is only allowed from the driver's standing area.
LIPO batteries must be charged in a LIPO bag. (LIPOs discouraged because of lack of places to charge).
When not in use, park cars in the infield out of the way.
Place controllers back on the table when not in use.
Drivers must marshall the race after their race.
On lap one, if a crash occurs in the first corner, the race will be restarted.
If a driver jumps the start they will be sent to the back and the race will be restarted.
If a club car has a mechanical failure before the halfway point in a heat, the heat will be restarted.
If there is a timing and scoring issue, I will do everything I can to keep track of the results. Run-offs may need to happen to settle results (at my discretion).
No reckless driving.
Rule changes may occur in the interest of competition and affordability and will be at Cameron's discretion.
TT02 Car Buying Guide
Everything it takes to field an TT02 car:
$107.00 - Tamiya TT-02 Chassis (I use the cheapest Celica one. All are the same underneath, they're just different bodies.) $35.00 - Any Transmitter + Receiver (I recommend the Flysky GT3-B on Amazon) $18.00 - Any standard sized steering servo (I recommend the PDI-4409MG) $15.00 - Any NiMH battery (1.25" x 5.25") with Tamiya connector (I use Zeee 3600mAh NiMH Battery) $15.00 - Any NiMH charger with Tamiya connector (N8 NiMH/NICD Compact Charger) $36.00 - LapMonitor Transponder w/ Separated LED (JR/Futaba Connector - item number IPM02002) $8.00 - 8 AA batteries for the Transmitter (I really recommend rechargeable ones from Amazon) Total: $235.00 The kit takes about 3-4 hours to build. I'm happy to build it or assist, but it's an enjoyable process and helps you get familiar with the car. It also comes with a clear, unpainted body. I use acrylic paint, but there is also special Tamiya Polycarbonate PS paint available on Amazon that is designed to stick to the body.
Note: This is not a business or a sponsorship program, just a hobby group having fun. 100% of contributions go toward gear, parts, and paint to keep our RC races running.
